Chad & Janelle Payne

My name is Janelle. I'm a critical care nurse, newborn photographer and DIY extraordinaire, but most know me as Nailgun Nelly! You can always find my husband Chad and I building something on our property here on the beautiful Central Coast of California. Back in 2019 we built a studio apartment to house travel nurses when our community was getting hit hard by COVID-19. From that, we fell in love with building and designing small spaces and you guessed it, that's where our love for retro travel trailers came from. Since then we have renovated several vintage trailers and even built out a camper van that our little family lived in as drove across the gorgeous southwest. From stationary tiny homes, to off grid rigs, you could say we have kinda turned into experts for anything trailer/tiny home related and we are even have a vintage trailer rehab book in production outlining everything we have learned!
